Grab a Friend

Grab a Friend
Booked or planning one of our rides and doing it solo? Well you are definitely not the first, most people are doing it on their own and make good mates along the way.
We are all in it together, the slow and the fast, we regroup for lunch and curse the headwinds and bless the tails winds, then tackle the hills and race the slopes, we all share the fun and the challenge. The hardest part is going back home.
So if you have a training buddy, an interested mate, wife, husband, son, daughter or even granddad that would love coming on a ride as much you would, bring them along. Makes going home that little bit easier, knowing that you have shared these memories with some one that you always have close by. They don’t need to be a pro, they may well become one by the end of the ride, but there is still plenty of time to train.
Training with a buddy makes it so much easier to get motivated. You can chat as you go and stop for coffee (or beer) afterwards. Share the satisfaction of your progress: that extra 10 km that would have been impossible a month ago, or climbing that hill without getting off.

Here are some Key training points:

• Build up ride distances gradually
• Increase frequency of rides each week
• Map out a plan and stick to it!

And don’t stress if you think you can’t ride 100km, there is always the bus with a friendly staff member happy to have a chat.
